I'm having a package mailed to me from Seattle, Washington.

It left Seattle, then went to Kent, Washington.

Now it's in Billing, Montana HuhHuh

they're going the wrong way!

(btw, the person mailing my package put Honolulu [zip code] USA
and *not* Hawaii. Should still get to me, right?)

I don't understand why it went to Montana. Dodgy

...and the thing is, I'm supposed to receive this package tomorrow.

...and! The package has 20 items. Only 3 are for me. 10 are for my friend, and 7 are for my sister. Hope it makes it.

Bummer, you guys! I just tracked my USPS package and it's scheduled to arrive around noon tomorrow.
Well, with the gov't mini-shutdown, we'll see.

Icky congress guys... they spoil everything for everybody.

Hope you get your package, Nance.

When my sister sends me stuff from Seattle, I get it in 3-5 days. I never thought it went to Montana first.

(yes, I ordered something from Seattle even if my sister lives there. L-O-N-G story I don't think you'd be interested. LOL
At least she's coming in November)

The shutdown had no affect on the postal service, it was business as usual. The only thing that might have slowed delivery was the holiday on Monday. Hope all said pkg.s arrive as promised Smile

" It was probably too afraid to go through Newbrasky"

LOL!

(so paranoid me...I checked flights from Montana to Hawaii since USPS does use commercial flights. No direct flights to Hawaii.
The package may have a stop in Denver. OH LAH! And there are glass pieces in that box!)

The zip code should get it to you safely, at some point. I gave up trying to understand how the USPS worked a long time ago!

Well I hope you get everything in tact. Was it insured? With glass I hope so. They say mark it fragile, but ...

HA! Linda..I feel your pain. When I order from Amazon and it comes from out East, it goes to Kansas, then to Minnesota, then back to Kansas and finally to Iowa! Seriously????
I bet your package arrives on time today Nance!

I have the same issues with UPS. There is some place that I order stuff from that ships from New Jersey...past CT...where it then goes to Massachusetts before coming back down to CT. Its baffling.

Hello? I'll just meet your truck as you're passing through Hartford.

Thanks for the reassurances.
I checked the status this morning. It did leave Billing, MT.

Who wants to guess what state will be next on the list? I say Colorado.

Tom was telling me that Kent, Washington is a main hub but even he is baffled as to why it went to Billings after that. Sure hope it arrives with everything intact.

I'm scratching my head over this also. It did leave Billings yesterday, but nothing as to where it is now. Dodgy

It all depends on where hubs are located, volumes etc.

Kind of like air travel - sometimes it is cheaper to fly from Atlanta to Memphis to Dallas than direct Atlanta to Dallas.

okay, that makes sense. Even though they put the package on 3 - 5 day delivery? It was scheduled to arrive today.

And sometimes it's cheaper to fly from Tulsa to London just to get to Atlanta. But who wants to do that ?!?

Hope you get it soon.

Sometimes they take the long way to get from A to B.

I sent one to Arizona with all the correct address. It came back weeks later. No such place exists in the USA. What Arizona doesn't exist??

It had stamp marks from all over the place. Said if you want to resend this parcel please put new stamps on it. Funny now. At the time I was furious. It had cost $25.00 so not doing that. I put it back into the post without changing anything and they got it a week later.

Good - I ordered something online a couple of years ago and the free shipping option was USPS with no tracking available. Did not get it within a reasonable period and after much arguing, I got a credit from the vendor. Which I set aside and did not use. 6 MONTHS later my little package shows up in my mailbox.
